welcome amelie to our house!!! our exchange student arrived on wednesday...in the middle of my 100th post game, lol!!!

it has been 4 days and sooooooooooooooooo much fun!!! she is super sweet....super cute...and my only concern is that she is gonna get bored, lol!!!
my kids absolutely love her...and i am praying that their constant monopolizing of her time doesn't send packing and heading back to quebec!!! we are hoping she has a blast this summer with us!!

huh!! so how did i miss that?? yesterday i posted my hundredth post in typepad...so cool!!! and i was just thinking it had been awhile since i had done a RAK...so here is the perfect excuse!!! and i am in the mood to have some fun, sooooooooooo....here is what needs to happen ( borrowing your idea telah, lol!!!)...i want to see a HUNDRED comments!! yup...you can comment more then once...or twice...or 50 times, lol!!! but the people whose comments are 25, 50, 75 and 100 will get a RAK from me!!! let the game begin!!!

the floor only has the first coat of paint on it...and it will eventually have something fun done to it...the next step...but you will have to wait and see what i do,lol!!! but already the sun porch feels so peaceful and i CANNOT wait to get out there and enjoy my morning tea...sit...be...it will be fabulous!!

this is the busiest woman i have ever met...pregnant...still teaching classes and a few days overdue now!!! dude!!! when i was pregnant i quit working at 3 months, lol!!! but there is some great stuff going on over there...very cool.

had a fabulously busy and fun weekend...good friends...good food...good hang time...just cool.

lotus paperie has fridays challenge up...check it out...great sketch...great designs by the team...great kit!
yes...i did two for this sketch...i used the bulk of the kit to create an herb journal...but thought people might get sick of seeing bits and pieces of it so i created a LO with the sketch. i also created an extra page, just for fun, with the kit...

i have been randomly creating things over the last week...thought i would share...

simple beauty was created with the scarlet lime kit and i used a challenge at just cre8. deal or no deal...we pick 6 cases and are messaged back what the cases contained. i had owl, 3 flowers, heart shape, doodling, rubons, and 3 stars. so much fun!!

hooked on cardboard backgrounds...had to create another one. used the june just cre8 kit...really fun kit!!

just for fun using the scarlet lime march kit...i have a lot of kits piling up, lol...gonna have to go into hiding and just create with them, lol!!

so have a fabulous weekend...ours is full...lots more yard work and painting in the house to do. farmers market. birthday parties for the kids to attend. bbq's. park trips. LOVE summer!!!

o!! and our exchange student, ame, comes in 5 days!!!

there is a letter tucked inside the library pocket, it reads:

the hardest things as a parent is stepping back...letting you find your own way....letting you make mistakes...not being there to catch you when you before you fall. i know you are going to have your heart broken. i know you are going to find and lose friends. i know that you are going to hear hurtful words and probably from someone you trust. i know you are going to make mistake after mistake as you discover what is right for you. i know all this...i know that i can't stop it. i know that i have to watch from a distance and be there to help pick up the pieces, fix the broken heart, and correct mistakes-but-only if you allow my help. i know you are going to shut me out, push me away. and i know that i have to let you. i know life isn't always going to easy or kind. it's going to be tough and hard. but i also know you are going to have shining moments, beautiful moments. moments that make it all worth it. moments that create you, define you, shape you.moments that make you STRONG. i know as a parent, as hard as it this is, this is my greatest gift to you. finding the STRENGTH to allow you to be you.

for the first time in awhile....a long while...the journaling came first. when i thought about what i wanted to do with this weeks word at OLW, i thought about the strength garnered from being a parent. i thought about all the things i want to protect my kids from, but can't. i thought about the things i want to say to them...and decided to write a letter. i do have plans on creating a page for  dakota and delainey and including this letter. the title for the page i did as a quote from my letter...i quoted the last line.

so where do you find your strength....what makes you strong??? how does strong apply to you?? we would love to see what you come up with over at OLW....come and play with us!!!

moving on!!! our weekend was pretty laid back...spent a lot of time on making lists to finalize some projects and some summer plans!!!

worked in our veggie garden....radishes, beets, lettuce, spinach...o my!!! so excited to see things sprouting!!!

my living room is finally put together again with the exception of one shelf still needing some paint...so when that is done i will post photo's!!

started planning haillee's birthday...she will be turning 6 in july...we are having it early, about 3 weeks early, lol, so that her friends will be around to attend. we are going to have an old fashioned birthday party!! haillee is super excited about it!!

finishing up the plans on our canada day bbq potluck...love being in a house now...we can finally accommodate things like this!! and in true monica stewart style (if you don't know, this is a deliberate combo of names...ronda laughingly described me as monica gellar and martha stewart when it came to planning things....monica stewart...and it stuck!!! LOL!!)

this week is about finishing up more stuff...too many to list!!! so with that i am off...have a fabulous monday everyone!!!
