are you ready for the whirlwind??

HOLY HANNAH!!! canada's scrapbooking crop 4 kids was AMAZING!!!! seriously...how could you not love 3 days dedicated to the hobby of scrapping....but not only that....it was to raise money for one of the best causes out there....CHILDREN!!!! our futures...our innocence...our dreams...our goals...our children!!! Now I have know idea how successful, yet, the event was on that level....but I will let you know as soon as I know!!!

This weekend I participated as a scrapper, a volunteer, and a teacher!!! this was my first time teaching on this kind of scale and on this level...do you know who i got to meet??? some amazing woman and some fabulous teachers!!! i was teaching along side teachers such as....the beautiful iron orchid girls; josie and sallie, rusty pickles man of the hour; lance anderson, one of the effer dare girls;christina contes (who has a really cool kit at SIS tv right now!!!), and the extremely vibrant crop and cruise chica; leica!!! and these are just a few of the fabulous teachers that were there this weekend!!!

okay...now this woman deserves her own paragraph!! Trisha is the amazing and beautiful woman who pulled this weekend off and made it happen!!! she went above and beyond in her own duties and inspired others to do the same!!! she put her personal life on hold for 18 months for something she truly believed in with all her heart!! There was few people who forgot the reason we were there and caused some unpleasantries....they was some glitches that occurred beyond her control...but each time something came up trisha stepped up and rose above...and I have to say...I am completely honoured to be able to call her friend!!! and trisha, if you're reading this....GO TO BED!!!!!!

trisha had some good help...some other amazing woman who volunteered their time and I got to meet...janine wahl...who is super talented and super sweet and so willing to give!!! anam...this amazing woman just cracks me up and her accent is beautiful...and seriously, the english can make anything sound pretty!!!

and lastly...my husband is a ROCK STAR!!! He put up with 100's of insane scrapping woman in west edmonton mall!!! this weekend just made me realize all the more how much i love him!!! he got up 5:30am friday morning to go to work. he picked up delainey and haillee at noon ( I had to be in edmonton sooner than him) and went home to pick up dakota at school, dropped the kids off at my mom's, dropped the dog off at our good friend, Bruce's, and than drove to edmonton intending to be the night shift security guard for all those die hard croppers!!! yes...the crop space was open to us 24 hours!!!! but he went above and beyond...lending his muscle and hands wherever needed!! when he got to edmonton at 8pm he had to go rescue our suitcases in fort saskatchewan, than drove to the airport with trisha's husband to pick up one more teacher, and than stayed up until 7am making sure the crop space and die hards was secure and safe!!! do you think he came to bed at 7am?? nope...he than helped move the supply boxes (we had 135 classes this event...you can imagine all the boxes!!!) from one room in west ed to another as the mall had booked the room we were currently using!! jay than spent the rest of his time until 2pm saturday doing whatever odds and ends were required!!! he finally got a 2.5 hour nap only to get up at 6pm and start it all over again!!!but shhhh...don't tell anyone...I think he had just as much fun as any of the ladies there!!! and if he says differently, well I am sure Jess will drive all the way down from wainwright and kick his butt!!!!

now before you start demanding pictures from...i seriously had no time to pull my camera out!!! so now I am begging all those ladies out there....please, please, please send me some pictures from this weekend!!! pretty please?? with a cherry on top??? just hit my email me link and hook me up!!!

i know i promised some ladies who took my classes that the projects were on my blog and in my gallery...okay...so i lied!!! lol...i checked and apparently haven't gotten around to it yet!! i will...i swear...i will post the projects, instructions, and a complete supply list for you

I know you guys are all due an update...but things have become extremely insane around here!!!

camping??? quick update on that...remember i wanted warm weather?? apparently that whole ask and you shall receive thing is a scam!!! LOL!!the first night there we had a huge thunderstorm...the kind were you expect your tent to be blown away because the wind is so strong!! so at 1am my husband and i were flying out of tent at the first crash of something been thrown amiss and are greeted by the outer room of our tent been caved in and we had to fight our way out!! we are then greeted by our portable canopy (10ftx10ft) up in the air...it's only saving grace??? Jay had tied one post to a tree...so we had to fight to bring it back to the ground...get the roof cover off and the mesh netting sides...pick up all our camp gear that the storm was throwing about and stash it under the cement picnic table...

soaked, tired, and covered in sand we got back into bed around 2am...my beautiful children slept through the entire thing!!! so aside form that i had a fabulous time!!!! and if you tell my husband that i will deny it and sent you all some voodoo curse!!! LOL!! the kids played at the beach, blew bubbles, went a little train ride, rode peddle go karts, and went on a horse drawn wagon ride!!! in fact...we had such a good time we booked again for next year...not once but twice...and that's as close as i am coming to saying i liked tenting!!!

okay...home front...boxes everywhere...my house is a disaster...BUT...only 18 more days til we move!!! OMGosh i am so excited!!!!

OLW  news...we have moved to typepad...and the blog looks awesome!!!! Go check it out!! I know I'm late on this...but remember, HECTIC!!! Amber's week for a word and the word is PURE!! here is what i came up with, an altered canvas. there are 3 canvases connected with hinges...

i had fun with this...and for you local girls...it will be a class at Scrapbooker's Paradise in the winter session of  classes...so keep checking back for exact dates!!

and lastly...CANADA'S SCRAPBOOKING CROP FOR KIDS. I was at scrapfest this weekend and Trisha (coordinator for this amazing event and totally fabulous lady!!!)was teaching some amazing classes to raise more money for the Stollery Hospital and we had a booth set up in the market place for getting more information out about the event...recruiting volunteers and getting more people to register. It was fun...but let me tell you...very emotional...we had woman who had to make use of the children's hospital sharing their stories with us...some sad and heartbreaking and some that had a happy outcome...all were hard to hear!! being a mom i got goosebumps with every story and yes, shed a few tears!! i have been blessed not to have had the need for this hospital...but it still touches my heart and i want to make sure...just like every other volunteer...that every child gets the best care possible while there!! so if you can attend the event or donate your time or help out in any way...PLEASE DO!!! if you are not in canada..you can still support the event...just contact Trisha!!!

one way you can support the event is by making cards, lots and lots of cards!!!! Put on by Scrapbook & Cards Today the idea is to make a card to give to a child in the hospital to bring a smile to their face and for every card you make you donate a dollar that goes directly to the Stollery Hospital. so you make 10 cards...you donate 10 dollars!!! so easy and will go so far!! for more information about that you can contact Trisha as well. i am so excited to be a part of this and i am really looking forward to teaching at it!!!

O...do you realize how small this world of ours is?? my parents vacationed up in the northwest territories this summer and traveled through whitehorse...beautiful country...and brought back a ton of photos!!! an aunt i have only ever met once...and i am sorry to say i don't even remember the meeting...was up in whitehorse recently as well...what is the point of my story?? well she came across a little scrapbook shop ( i think!! as i wasn't the one traveling and the story has come to me through a couple of people, i am not sure on exact details!!) and met this women...who recognized my aunts last name ( my maiden name) and asked if she was related to me and could she let me know that she would like me to contact her!! So my mom passed on the in formation to me today and I was blown away...we went to high school together and had some good times!!! Vanessa and i used to share the same fashion design dreams and apparently still share a love of art!! She has a cool little site, Lotus Paperie, and is now a fellow scrapper...how cool is that?? I am totally looking forward to reconnecting with her!!!

now...before i go blog MIA again...let me just say that i probably won't be updating very much in the next few weeks...so much to do and so little time!!!
