to FINALLY see some photo's from my trip to denver?

okay so i know that a photo from the plane window is a dime a dozen...however...this is my first one...so ya'll get to deal with it, lol!!

saturday found us in an adorable little town, arvada...a photographers dream for locations!!! we toured artisan shops, old fashioned candy shops, spice shops, and music shops...some seriously cool history in every one!!

it was definitely a good day!

and you will have to wait for the rest...i'm squishing in a quick post during a busy dayhome day!

rag curls and ballet shoes

it was a busy weekend!!! with a busy week leading up to this weekend past!!!

and a new bedroom face lift!

so let's get started!!! friday saw haillee's first dance festival...so we decided to do rag curls this year. my curling iron decided to short on me...and as most of you know, i have a really hard time with plastic so didn't want to purchase curlers. so rags it was!!! super easy and man! the curl!!! delainey decided that she too needed curly hair....

adorable huh?? so off to the dance festival we go friday morning....

my little audrey hepburn! her group did so well friday, despite their nerves and a few bumps in the performance....they were awarded high silver!i

friday night showed me that we were sadly lacking on baggage for these festivals...so we hit wal-mart to check out make up bags and garment bags...unfortunately...i am picky!! we found one garment bag...and it was perfect as it folded in half and had a strap for carrying...but it was boring black and fifty dollars. so crazy me...decided i didn't have enough to do...we went and checked out fabric. why??
O! because i sew...and how hard can it be to make a custom garment bag??? so haillee picked out some heavy denim weight cotton and voila.....


a folding garment bag!! and it was easy....i made a pattern, cut our fabric, sewed in a hanger loop, hanging loop, and shoulder strap....2 hours! it will be quicker next go around as i know what i am doing now :) haillee loves it!!! and see that adorable felt daisy hanging off the strap?? gudrun made and sent me that adorable flower...haillee decided the perfect place for it was on her garment bag!!! we also now have a place to to keep the medals she earns!

so saturday we were completely organized with cute baggage and off to another dance festival in stettler. haillee and her group so AMAZING this time and were awarded A-first!!! so proud of her and her group!!! but i was taken out with a migraine...ugh!!!

took all day sunday to recover!! but i won't bore you with those details ;)

and lastly...i played along with the CCG challenge, super fun....

and now i am off to do some more painting in that bedroom face lift i mentioned!!! haillee is moving downstairs...doesn't want to share a room with her baby sister anymore!! so we are trying to make it more then just a basement bedroom for her to help with the move!! the theme : garden fairies.

i am at the point where i love working out and it feels weird not too...love that
i pigged out on pizza with the family last night and i don't feel any guilt :)
we our going to the our first BBQ of  the year at a friends house tomorrow
i get some alone time tonight...kids are going to watch a movie at a friend's house
i am looking forward to watching a new tv show on the food network...the 100 mile diet :)

it is finally starting to thaw here...winter is still trying to cling...but temperatures are warming and snow is melting regardless.
definitely a good thing!
making stuff, been in a very creative mood lately
went shopping with a good friend and added some more spring into my wardrobe
still on the work out train
we are completely vehicle-less and it's been good. walking everywhere. and decided that we will replace the vehicles...but only with one. we realized we don't need 2. so we are making another greener choice. one more efficient vehicle...definitely a good thing.
finally had a birthday party...a very, very, very belated party for our 3 yr. old!! her requested theme...flowers!! so flowers filled the room...from the centre piece to the cupcakes...homemade chocolate sour cream cupcakes with some adorable little drop flowers on the top! love cake decorating!!

OLW...apparently i decided to take a small blog break!! OLW, rev's choice, went live last wednesday. got to play with the basic grey porcelain line...very pretty!!

fun things
had a skype date last night. so much fun!! was supposed to be with gi and kerry lynn was going to join us...but i hear that gi fell asleep reading stories to  her kidlets and was a no show :) LOL!!! so i got to chat one on one with KL...definite good times!! and yup! i have a photo of the somewhat elusive kerry. have you noticed?? there really aren't a lot of photo's of here around!! so a little fun revenge for the video snapshots she kept taking of me...i snapped a few of her...heehee!!

just cre8 has a birthday coming up!! fun times!!! i created a fun project to share at the event...definitely one of fave projects to date...here's a little sneakie!!

my creative calendar is full of creative projects due in the coming weeks :)

i have been walking everywhere instead of driving.

i tried tempting spring by buying an adorable yellow and white floral dress...it backfired a bit, as we got a HUGE dump of snow...*sigh*...it comes to me knees. but hey! i still have that dress and isn't it cute?? it's from old navy :)

i found an amazing recipe for peanut butter and jam "sandwich" muffins.

i have been working out 5 days a week for 3 weeks and loving it!!!

i am going to try a new hobby...yeah cuz i needed another one :) altered and recycled jewelery making. i love jewelery and have been making some scrappy inspired pieces...want to move onto revamping old junk :)

my husband is home today...his truck won't start, he thinks it's his starter (i think the world is trying to tell us something, LOL)

my dayhome ad goes live in our town paper tomorrow and i am all set up and good to go.

i have found a new cooking show i LOVE...and he is canadian and lives in PEI. LOVE chef at home.

* i woke up this morning at 630am...enjoyed leisurely morning tea, a beautiful sunrise...and sleepy eyed children getting roused from bed

*looking forward to the smell of peanut butter cookies baking later this morning

*i love capri's...more especially jeans rolled up to create oversized cuffs and flip flops...yeah even in the middle of winter...

*todays temp -28c with windchill it becomes -39c

*i love soup...thick, warm, hearty soups

*teaching my 3yr old patience is stretching mine

*i am smiling because it's today...no specific reasons...it's going to be a good day and that makes me smile:)

with absolute excitement!!! do you know how hard it is to keep something to yourself when all you want to do is stand on some mountain top and shout it to the world??? remember that good and exciting news from a few posts back??? weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllllllllllll....

i was asked to be a part of a design team...and i have to say...it is the best feeling EVER...to be asked. AND! without sounding cheesy....this is another dream team...the artists on this team are fabulous and i have admired and used them as inspiration, i don't know how many times!!! so for me it's still feels a bit surreal...and i keep thinking...seriously?? me??

so now that i have babbled excitedly about the DT...ya probably want to know where and who, huh?? well the beautiful and talented and fabulous kerry lynn has asked me to join her kenner road team...a monthly kit club that i LOVED so much i subscribed to...and now get to be a DESIGNER instead!!!

so yeah....super STOKED!!! i start with the january kit which reveals on the 14th...so stay tuned for sneak peaks!!! so in true albertan fashion....YEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAW!!!!

we are getting our christmas tree this weekend...so excited...my first real tree since i was a girl.
